At Sydney Grammar School Edgecliff, our dedicated staff members focus on developing every boy to ensure that each one works towards achieving his potential: allowing him the opportunity to discover and grow his talents, whilst receiving individual attention. We realise academic ability, nurture talent and build character in an environment of positive expectation. We also have plenty of fun!
Our central purpose is the preparation of boys for our senior school campus at College Street, in the City, and the liberal academic curriculum there. Boys who leave Edgecliff have a thirst for learning, are aspirational and are fully prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.
We are proud of our excellent academic record, outstanding pastoral care and wide range of co-curricular activities.
Our focus lies in the development of the whole boy, who is given ample opportunities to explore and pursue his own interests during his time here. In conjunction with the core subjects, the study of Music, Science and Technology, Spanish, Visual Arts, P.E. and Drama allows boys to develop passions across a wide field. Teachers attempt to model and encourage their pupils to value and nurture attributes such as tolerance, respect and empathy, and look to weave these important pillars of a humane education into their programmes.
