Established in 1886, the history of Kinross Wolaroi School has been well chronicled, with documented triumphs and hardships throughout the years serving only to add to the rich fabric of the School as we know it today.

Following the amalgamation of the prestigious Orange schools, Wolaroi College (formerly Wolaroi Grammar Est. 1886) and PLC Orange (Est. 1928) in 1975, Kinross Wolaroi School has become one of the leading independent co-educational boarding schools in regional Australia, where our students thrive in an inspirational learning environment that blends modern facilities and heritage buildings with breathtaking grounds.

Our broad curriculum offers a diverse range of challenging academic subjects and skills-based practical courses.  Our primary and senior academic programs are complemented by a vibrant co-curricular program, where students discover and are encouraged to develop their individual talents.

The co-curricular program offered at Kinross Wolaroi School is both diverse and engaging. It is designed to ensure participation in properly directed activities such as music, drama, sport, community service and cadets.

Based on Christian values and teachings of the Uniting Church, KWS celebrates diversity and encourages students to be true to themselves and the values of the School and their families. Through the pastoral care programs, our teachers enjoy a close relationship with their students. Knowing them as individuals gives them a much greater appreciation of each students’ educational and social needs.

At the heart of KWS has been our boarding program which has provided a home away from home to boarders at the School for well over a century.  With over 350 boarders, our commitment to boarding ensures an authentic boarding experience and vibrant school community and spirit. Our single sex accommodation allows the School to cater for the individual needs of both genders in safe and secure environment.  Students’ academic, co-curricular, moral and spiritual development, together with their physical wellbeing, is achieved within this setting.

As a school we celebrate success, but we respect the value of resilience. We aim to equip our students with the knowledge, skills, values and confidence to become enterprising, innovative and compassionate members of the global community. For over a century, we have been motivating students to become men and women of integrity.

Kinross Wolaroi School offers a diverse range of challenging subjects with a focus on academic effort and progress.

We also offer skills-based practical courses. This diversity of subjects enables us to tailor a teaching program that is a platform for the future working life of any person, of any ability. Learning enrichment is available for all students, ranging from support for those with learning difficulties to extension and gifted and talented programs.

Our broad curriculum provides a rounded education where your child will be stimulated to learn in an atmosphere of engagement, involvement and commitment by skilled and dedicated teachers and staff.
